She highlighted that automation may improve efficiency for one group while creating uncertainty, exclusion or a loss of purpose for another. Smart transformation must therefore consider who benefits, who may be affected and how people can be supported through change.
“A smart nation is not built through infrastructure and technology alone. It requires citizens, institutions and leaders who can apply common sense, critical thinking and moral responsibility,” she said.
