The Global Youth Leadership Programme brought together young leaders from around the world to tackle real urban challenges. On 5 June 2025, Evolution Commerce (EVOCOM) joined hands with Common Purpose and The University of Hong Kong (HKU) , alongside esteemed organizations such as UNICEF, Solvemen Asia, Coach 2 Success Consultancy to host the Global Youth Leadership Development Programme in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
As part of the programme’s Collab session held at the Grand Mercure Hotel, Evocom and participating organisations guided a group of 28 international students through a partnership simulation centred on the question: The Global Youth Leadership Programme gave students a real-world lens on urban resilience challenges.

The Collab session created an inspiring space for students to exchange ideas, build cross-cultural understanding, and strengthen leadership capacity through practical, real-world collaboration.
Evocom shared how the organization is preparing for the future of work through inclusive and sustainable digital transformation, while facilitating discussions that encouraged participants to design creative partnerships addressing urban resilience and community equity.

Why the Global Youth Leadership Programme Matters
Urban resilience is one of the defining challenges facing cities like Kuala Lumpur, and the students who took part in the Global Youth Leadership Programme approached it from angles that professionals often overlook: fresh eyes, cross-cultural perspectives, and a willingness to question assumptions baked into existing city planning. Partnering with organisations such as UNICEF, Solvemen Asia and Coach 2 Success Consultancy gave the programme access to real frameworks used in international development work, rather than abstract classroom exercises.
For Evocom, supporting the Global Youth Leadership Programme connects to a broader pattern of investing in the next generation, from AI talent development initiatives to mock interview sessions with university students. Each of these programmes shares the same underlying goal: helping young people build the practical skills and confidence that formal education alone doesn’t always provide.
The themes explored during the Kuala Lumpur session, inclusive design, community equity and resilient infrastructure, mirror priorities set out in the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goal 11 on sustainable cities and communities, which calls for urban areas that are inclusive, safe and resilient for all residents.
Beyond the workshop itself, the programme gave Evocom an opportunity to hear directly from a highly international cohort about how young professionals across different countries perceive urban challenges differently depending on where they grew up. That kind of exchange is difficult to replicate through internal training alone, and it fed directly into how Evocom thinks about its own approach to talent development, sustainability, and community engagement going forward. Evocom sees programmes like this as part of a long-term investment in the leaders who will eventually shape the cities and companies of the future. It is the kind of quiet groundwork that rarely makes headlines but consistently shapes better outcomes down the line. Evocom hopes to stay involved with the Global Youth Leadership Programme as it continues to grow across the region.
