UNITAR Celebrates a Remarkable 25th Convocation Ceremony at PICC

The UNITAR 25th Convocation Ceremony was a landmark event as UNITAR International University marked a significant milestone with its 25th Convocation Ceremony on 15 November 2025 at the Putrajaya International Convention Centre (PICC). The celebration honoured the success of over 4,000 graduates, indicating that an estimated of 8000+ attendance of proud parents and relatives attended, showcasing the growing impact and trust in UNITAR’s mission.

A defining highlight of UNITAR’s identity is its unwavering dedication to B40 upskilling and accessible education. Through innovative programmes and inclusive learning models, UNITAR continues to uplift communities by creating opportunities for individuals to advance their careers, improve their livelihoods, and transform their futures. The convocation ceremony stood as a powerful reminder of the university’s impact, celebrating not only academic success but also the hopes and possibilities unlocked for countless families.

Evocom’s presence at the UNITAR 25th Convocation Ceremony reflects a broader pattern in how the company engages with causes it cares about: showing up for education and community initiatives that extend beyond a single sponsorship cheque or logo placement. Sponsoring a milestone convocation is one way to do that, but so is sending staff to volunteer at a park clean-up, or contributing resources to programmes that widen access to tertiary education for lower-income families. Moments like the UNITAR 25th Convocation Ceremony reflect Evocom’s commitment to community education initiatives.

For UNITAR, the 25th convocation was also a chance to showcase its network of corporate partners, from Platinum and Gold sponsors to smaller contributors, whose support helps keep tuition accessible for B40 and M40 households. Evocom’s participation as a Gold Sponsor sits alongside organisations across banking, technology and logistics that share an interest in expanding access to higher education in Malaysia.

Congratulations to the graduating class of 2025, and heartfelt appreciation to UNITAR for its continued leadership in shaping lives through education.

What the UNITAR 25th Convocation Ceremony Represents

A 25th convocation is more than an anniversary. It marks a quarter-century of UNITAR moving thousands of students, many of them the first in their families to complete tertiary education, from enrolment to graduation. The scale of this year’s ceremony, with over 4,000 graduates and thousands more family members filling PICC, reflects how far that mission has grown since UNITAR’s founding as one of Malaysia’s earliest fully online universities.

UNITAR’s B40 education initiatives, including scholarships and subsidised programme fees developed with state government partners, are a large part of why the university’s graduating classes keep growing. For many families in the audience, the ceremony represented not just a degree but a shift in what was possible for their household.

This is not the first time Evocom has stood alongside UNITAR. The partnership also extends into community work, including a joint conservation CSR initiative at Taman Botani Negara Shah Alam, reflecting a shared interest in education and community upliftment that goes beyond a single event. Evocom expects to keep showing up at milestones like this one, whether that means sponsoring a convocation, supporting a conservation project, or simply sending a team to volunteer, because each is a small piece of the same broader commitment to community and education in Malaysia. It is a simple enough approach, but one the university and its partners seem to think is working, given how far both the graduating classes and the sponsor list have grown over 25 years. Evocom looks forward to being part of the next chapter.

Evolution Commerce (Evocom) was honoured to be part of this significant celebration as a Gold Sponsor, supporting a university that is deeply committed to community upliftment and lifelong learning. We are proud to stand behind UNITAR as it continues to drive meaningful opportunities for all Malaysians, especially within the B40 community. The UNITAR 25th Convocation Ceremony was a milestone Evocom was honoured to be part of.
