Empowering Smarter Systems, Elevating Lives with AI

12 September 2025 | Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC)
Organised by: Women Engineers Section (WE), Institution of Engineers Malaysia (IEM)

Human-centred AI is redefining how organisations innovate, and that shift was front and centre at ENGINEER 2025. Artificial Intelligence (AI) is more than a technological shift — it’s a catalyst redefining how we live, work, and connect. At the ENGINEER 2025 Power Talk, Evolution Commerce’s Chief Digital & Transformation Officer, Dr. Esther Loo Chee Hong, shared insights on how AI can empower smarter systems while keeping humanity, ethics, and sustainability at the centre of progress.

“Technology must serve people, not the other way around. When we design smarter systems with empathy and intention, we don’t just automate, we elevate lives.”
Dr. Esther Loo Chee Hong

The Power of Human-Centred Intelligence

Dr Esther emphasised that successful AI transformation begins with purpose-driven design. Intelligent systems are not simply about automation or data efficiency, they represent a new way of amplifying human potential. From predictive logistics to AI-driven workforce solutions, the conversation focused on creating synergy between innovation and inclusivity.

From Engineering to Empowerment

Drawing from her engineering and transformation background, Dr Esther highlighted how AI can humanise complexity. Through real-world examples, she illustrated how industries can integrate automation ethically, ensuring every digital advancement enhances sustainability, accessibility, and well-being… not just productivity.

About the Event

The Power Talk was held on 12 September 2025 at Lounge 5, Hall 5, KLCC, organised by the Women Engineers Section (WE) under IEM. The session was BEM-approved (Ref No: IEM25/HQ/360/T) and attended by professionals passionate about advancing Malaysia’s engineering and digital landscape.

Why Human-Centred AI Matters for Malaysian Businesses

As more Malaysian organisations adopt AI, the ENGINEER 2025 Power Talk reinforced a message that Evocom has long championed: technology should extend human capability, not replace it. Dr Esther’s session drew a direct line between Evocom’s own AI-driven initiatives, from workforce analytics to smarter logistics planning, and the broader national push toward responsible, human-centred AI adoption.

That approach mirrors the direction set out in Malaysia’s National AI policy frameworks, which emphasise ethics, transparency and inclusivity alongside innovation. For Evocom, this means every AI deployment, whether in talent development or day-to-day operations, is evaluated not just on efficiency gains but on how it affects the people who use it and the communities it touches.

Sessions like the ENGINEER 2025 Power Talk also give Evocom a platform to exchange ideas with engineers, policymakers and technologists working on similar challenges, reinforcing the company’s broader commitment to AI talent development across the region.

For a company built around logistics and workforce solutions, the lesson is straightforward: AI adoption succeeds when it is designed with, not simply for, the people who rely on it every day. That principle now shapes how Evocom approaches every new technology deployment across its operations. It’s also a reminder that the most impactful AI initiatives are rarely the flashiest ones, but the ones that quietly make everyday work easier, safer and more meaningful for the people behind them. That mindset is what turns a technology showcase into a lasting cultural shift. Human-centred AI, in Evocom’s view, is not a slogan but a design principle guiding every system it builds.
