On 20 May 2026, the Evocom UNITAR CSR conservation initiative brought Evolution Commerce Sdn. Bhd. together with UNITAR International University for a meaningful hands-on activity at Taman Botani Negara Shah Alam.

A total of 20 volunteers, with 10 from Evocom and 10 from UNITAR, came together for a hands-on conservation activity to repaint and refresh one of the gazebos within the park. It was a simple act of service, but one that carried a bigger purpose.

The UNITAR participants were graduates from the Faculty of AI and Emerging Technologies, future technocrats who will one day shape industries through innovation, automation and digital solutions. Through this programme, we wanted to remind them that technology must always remain connected to people, community and the environment.

As the team painted side by side, the activity became more than just beautification work. It was a shared moment of learning, teamwork and reflection on the importance of conservation. In a world driven by rapid technological advancement, caring for green spaces remains a responsibility we must continue to carry together.

Evocom is proud to support initiatives that combine community impact, sustainability and youth engagement. We believe that the future of technology must be built with empathy, environmental awareness and a strong sense of social responsibility.

Our heartfelt thanks to Taman Botani Negara Shah Alam for graciously hosting us and enabling this meaningful collaboration. We also thank UNITAR International University and all volunteers who contributed their time, energy and spirit to make the day a memorable one.

Why the Evocom UNITAR CSR Conservation Partnership Matters

Taman Botani Negara Shah Alam is a public conservation park, and small maintenance efforts like repainting a gazebo help preserve the space for the community. This CSR conservation activity paired Evocom staff with graduates from UNITAR International University, giving future technologists a hands-on reminder that innovation must stay grounded in environmental and social responsibility.

This activity forms part of Evocom’s broader sustainability commitments, which span environmental, social and community initiatives across Malaysia. Readers can learn more about these efforts on Evocom’s Sustainability page, and future collaborations with UNITAR are expected to continue building on this shared community spirit.

Together, we painted more than a gazebo. We painted a small but meaningful step towards a greener and more conscious future.

Volunteering activities like this Evocom UNITAR CSR conservation project also give employees and students a shared platform outside the workplace and classroom. For Evocom, community engagement is treated as seriously as core business operations, reflecting a belief that logistics and workforce solutions companies have a responsibility to invest in the communities where they operate. For UNITAR, sending graduates from technology-focused faculties into hands-on environmental work reinforces the university’s own commitment to producing well-rounded, socially conscious graduates. Both organisations see this kind of collaboration as a template for future joint initiatives, whether focused on the environment, youth development or community welfare, and are already discussing further opportunities to work together across Selangor and the wider Klang Valley region. Beyond the immediate environmental benefit, days like this help Evocom staff build closer working relationships across departments, since volunteers signed up individually rather than by team, mixing colleagues who don’t usually cross paths on a normal working day. Evocom plans to make this kind of employee volunteering a regular fixture on its community calendar, with future dates shared through internal channels and social media for anyone interested in joining. This first outing at Taman Botani Negara Shah Alam sets a positive benchmark for what future events could look like. Everyone involved left with paint on their hands and a genuine sense of pride in what they had accomplished together for the park and its visitors. This Evocom UNITAR CSR conservation effort is one Evocom hopes to repeat at other public green spaces.
